🌍 World Organ Donation Day – A Personal Message
Today holds deep meaning for our family. Our son has been recently diagnosed with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) and Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis (CHF)—a rare genetic condition that means, one day, he will likely need both a kidney and a liver transplant.
His future rests in the hands of organ donors—people who say *yes* to giving the ultimate gift: a second chance at life.
🫁 How You Can Help in Australia:
✅ Register with the Australian Organ Donor Register (AODR)
It takes just one minute via [donatelife.gov.au](https://www.donatelife.gov.au/register-donor-today) or through your myGov account.
You must be 18+ to register. Those 16–17 can record their intent to donate.
💬 Have the conversation
Your registration matters, but so does talking to your loved ones. In Australia, your family’s support is essential for donation to proceed.
💓 Consider living donation
Living donors can give a kidney or a portion of their liver. These acts of kindness change lives—especially for young people like our son.

The seasons are shifting here at Chimney Creek. The capsicums are ripe, the bees are busy, and we’re starting to feel autumn settle into the land. We had the joy of welcoming some wise folks out to help us learn more about the plants that call this place home, and Paul’s been building the verandah one shovel of cement at a time.

We’ve put together a little video sharing what life’s been like lately—quiet, earthy, and full of small joys. If you feel like slowing down for a bit, we’d love to have you join us https://youtu.be/7nhstrZMOiY

As summer slips quietly into memory, autumn stirs on the land. The bees drink deeply from the lemon balm, capsicums hang ripe on the vine, and a little lizar...

We’ve just shared a new video from the homestead—from the end of summer (I am still catching up - sorry!). It’s been a season of storms, seeds, and quiet reckonings.
In this episode, we tend the chickens, the compost, and the garden. We visit our dear friend Lana and come home with arms full of the most generous harvest. And we speak a little about our son Eli, who’s facing a tough road ahead with his health.

It’s not always easy to share these parts, but it feels honest. If you feel like slowing down for a while, we’d love to have you join us.

As summer draws to a close, the days feel heavy with both abundance and reflection. In this episode, we begin with our morning rhythm—checking the nesting bo...

We just shared a new video from the homestead as summer comes to a close and autumn slowly takes its place.
It’s a quiet reflection on life out here — the chickens, the garden, the kindness of friends, and some of the harder things too. Nothing fancy, just real life as it unfolds.

If you feel like slowing down for a little while and walking with us through this season of change, we’d love to have you.

You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/oSza2ayOVfQ

Thanks for being part of our journey, even from afar. 🤎

🌿 We’re home. After a beautiful time away in Thailand, we returned to our off-grid homestead to find that not everything had made it through the heat. Some of the garden had died… and honestly, it hit me hard. I needed time to process it before I could share anything. But with the help of Paul’s parents, Chris and Rex, we slowly started bringing things back to life — planting, mulching, building rock gardens, and finding small signs of hope again.

This video is quiet. Raw. More of a story than a how-to.
If you feel like slowing down, you’re welcome to sit with us for a while.

Our Thailand Journey – The Final Chapter
After 13 years, our family finally ventured overseas for a special adventure. We’ve shared some incredible memories with you, from ancient temples to rooftop views in Bangkok, and now we’ve reached the end of our Thailand series.

In this final episode, we explore the incredible Ayutthaya Historical Park, reflect on the broken Buddha statues that tell a story of resilience, and soak in the last moments of our trip.

It’s been a true gift to share this experience with you, especially since traveling in this way is so different from our usual off-grid life back home in Australia. But it’s also reminded us of why we cherish the simple things and the stillness of our piece of paradise.

Thank you for following along with us. If you’ve been part of this journey, we hope this final chapter brings you some peace and reflection. 🌿

As always, thank you for your support and patience. We can’t wait to share our next Aussie adventure with you soon.

🌏We made a few travel documentaries — not because we're travel vloggers, but because we wanted to remember. To honour the wild, messy, beautiful adventure we shared as a family in Thailand. Especially since our son has been diagnosed with some potentially life-threatening conditions.

It's not perfect. It's personal.
Full of moments both magical and mundane.
From the chaos of Bangkok to the stillness of Railay, to mango sticky rice and longtail boats and cheeky monkeys.

If you're curious, or dreaming of your own family adventure, we’d be honoured if you watched.
Maybe it’ll make you smile. Maybe it’ll make you plan something of your own.

We’ve got *one more* Thailand video to share — and then we’ll be back to our regular off-grid life in the Aussie bush. The veggies, the solar, the chooks… it’s all still waiting for us.
