In Australia we are currently undergoing a postal survey that's costing taxpayers $122 million dollars. $122 million dollars that could be better used in health, education, infrastructure...anything else really.
Our current Prime Minister does not have the courage to allow his party to have a free vote in parliament even though he is campaigning for a 'yes' vote. This is leadership at its weakest.
At Raw Edit Studio we believe that any two consenting adults deserve the right to marry, irrespective of someones gender or sexuality.
Even though we don't feel its our right to say who can or cannot marry we are voting YES in this non-binding, non-compulsory survey in the hope that marriage equality will finally become legal in Australia.

Here's a great blog post from Aimee Cook Photography about the importance of using pro labs for prints.

Most of the consumer labs don't run calibration prints regularly because quality is not what they sell.

If you're clients are hanging your photos on their walls educate them on differences of consumer vs pro labs...

On the odd occassion, we've been told that we are too expensive on our portrait retouch work.
Here is an interesting blog post from one of the blogs we love. If you are a photographer that is looking at outsourcing portrait work for high-end retouching this might help you realise why we charge what we charge.

We can help you free up your sitting-at-the-computer time to concentrate on growing your business and shooting more but you have to pay for quality work. In the end if you want cheap retouching you can find it but just remember that, more often than not, it LOOKS cheap AND nasty. Do you want your clients to hang awful images on their walls?

Even though LrQ doesn't state any known problems we'd recommend leaving it a few days before updating so you're not one of those people manically trying to revert your versions to something that works properly.
