🎬 TATINI FILM UPDATE 🎬

We’re excited to share a quick update on Tatini, our upcoming feature film that’s currently in the development stage. Director Richard Sergeant is collaborating closely with acclaimed screenwriter David Peterson as we work to finalise the script.

Last month, we held a small fundraising event where we sold food packs to support the project. A heartfelt thank you to all our families and friends in Melbourne and across Australia for your kindness, donations, and ongoing encouragement!

A special thank you to His Excellency, Mr. John Kali, Papua New Guinea’s High Commissioner to Australia, and his wife for their generous donation of AUD $2,000. Your belief and support in this project means alot to us and we trully appreciate it.

These funds are going directly toward the screenwriter’s fees and vital resources for the development phase of the film.

SUPPORT THE PROJECT:
If you’d like to support the project through donations, please contact us via email at [email protected].

For ongoing updates, you can inbox us or comment your email address below and we’ll keep you informed as the journey continues.

SEEKING PRODUCER:
We will be looking for a producer soon to come on board the Tatini project. If you or someone you know is passionate about storytelling and wants to help bring Papua New Guinean cinema to the world, we’d love to hear from you.

This is just the beginning — and as we move forward, we’ll need all the support we can get to bring Tatini to life. Thank you for walking with us on this journey.

Australian screenwriter and producer David Peterson recently spent a week in Makerupu Village, Central Province, Papua New Guinea, gathering stories and interviewing locals for the upcoming feature film tentatively titled "Tatini".

Peterson is working closely with director Richard Sergeant of Zolard Media to develop the screenplay for this romantic drama set in the 60s and 70s in Central Province. During his visit, he also explored nearby villages, including Kalo, Babaka, Hula, and Kamali, immersing himself in the local culture and traditions to ensure the authentic storytelling.

In addition to his work as a writer, Peterson is a film editor and software developer with a passion for connecting cultures through storytelling. Raised in Papua New Guinea and with teaching experience in Ethiopia, he co-created "Beyond Strange Lands" and won the 2020 John Hinde Award for his sci-fi drama "Untethered". His editing credits include celebrated works like "Bluey" and "Post Mortem Mary".
