“We get to meet many interesting folks involved with the Spurtle, including the charming washing-up team, the flag ironer, the local railman, the local meteorologist, the ‘Raffle Queen’, the on-site whiskey expert, and many more. Each and every one of them is memorable, funny, and adorable just as they are. It’s a community that makes you want to pack your bags and move there in an instant.”

Jesse Dixon from Film in Revolt is charmed by the documentary The Golden Spurtle - read his full review 📽️

“At its core, Sentimental Values interrogates the link between the personal and creative life of an artist, the role of art and creation as therapy versus art as a distraction from reality, and acts as an important reminder that stories from the heart have the power to bring people together, to capture that which we don’t have the courage to admit to one another face to face.” Franca from Film in Revolt reviews Sentimental Values- read more at

Billy from Film in Revolt hit SXSW Sydney running, diving into a wild mix of indie highs and lows.
Pure Scum had heart but stumbled; Forge was a total standout as sharp, fun, and full of life. Bulk was glorious chaos, Blondi was bizarrely brilliant, and 100% Pure Rage lost steam after a killer start. Break a Leg nailed small-scale tension, while Alice Maio Mackay’s The Serpent’s Skin shone with blood, heart, and joy. Dog of God was dark magic, and Westgate hit hard with raw Melbourne realism.

“Live a little unleashed, then some more. Never be so polite, you forget your power. After all, it’s all you can do before you die. If you buy a ticket you may find yourself not in a seat but on a teetering precipice, poised there unknowingly by the opening shot. Stay.”

DIE MY LOVE opens today and Aksharaa over at Film in Revolt responds.
