The first coronavirus infection was recorded in Australia on January 25 this year, initially causing little concern. Hatch's student journalists were among the first in the country to begin writing stories about it, recognising within the first couple of weeks it was becoming a real concern. They have since published over 50 stories on COVID-19. And from March 18, the week the WHO declared the virus a pandemic, they started a daily blog. That was six months ago with dozens of students across the newsrooms in Sydney and Melbourne contributing. So a big shout out to all the students who have reported on this once-in-a-lifetime event. Well done to you all. Great work! Great reporting!

Working remotely, Macleay College's student reporters blog about life under lockdown and the daily release of news on COVID-19 and it's spread.
