Thrilled to share a recent project I had the pleasure of working on the soundtrack and sound design for an incredible drone show over Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin! This breathtaking display was produced by the exceptionally talented team at AGB Creative for Australia Day, and it was an exciting challenge to bring it to life through sound. We were thrilled to be commissioned by HR tech leader Employment Hero to develop the theme song for their Global Gathering 2024—a spectacular, week-long conference held in Bali.

The mission? To create an energetic, uplifting pop anthem that combined a dynamic male rap for the verses with a powerful, female-sung chorus, embodying Employment Hero’s core values and goals—all while capturing the vibrant, resort vibe of Bali.

This project also marked our first use of SoundID’s Vocal AI technology, which opened up some pretty exciting and jaw-dropping possibilities. We began by recording the female vocals with our talented co-writer Glenn Cunningham and then transformed his performance into female vocals using AI. This cutting-edge approach allowed us to push creative boundaries and hit a tight timeline, delivering a complete track from start to finish.

For the final event, the song was re-recorded with Employment Hero team members, bringing an authentic touch to the live performance. Vocal AI, however, remained crucial in crafting the song’s unique sound and energy, setting the stage for an unforgettable live debut.

Ash Maklad has had more than 20 years of experience mastering the magic of sound. He is the Director of Supernova Sound Recording Studio & the Co-Founder of The Supernova Tribe who is an agency focussing on the activation of purpose-driven profile building, storytelling, music & content creation for entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and creative artists.

Ash has honed his craft in the world of broadcast and advertising specialising in recording voice-overs, sound design, and composition. He has mixed a countless number of television and radio commercials Including working on nationally acclaimed shows such as 60 minutes, Sky Business, and the Stan series Plonk. Ash has steadfast knowledge on what it takes to create a world-class sound experience with a deep respect for both the talent and the client in the creative process.

Ash has worked on an impressive catalog of albums for globally recognised artists including Wendy Matthews and Sons Of The East. He has also worked with Shannon Noll, Darren Percival, Youngs Divas (Sony Music), Erika Heynatz (EMI), Catcall (Ivy League Records), Expatriate (Universal) & King Cannons (EMI) to name a few.

In addition to partnering with advertising agencies and production houses, Ash has also found himself a niche in producing podcasts, voice-overs and audio books for business influencers, and in music production for large scale events and conferences. Ash also continues to produce songs for emerging or established artists and bands.
