We talk a lot about the different relationships dads have with their sons and daughters.

And while every child is completely their own person, there are some interesting ways dads can shape how kids see themselves, relationships, emotions and even what gender can look like.

For some kids, Dad might be the person who shows them that strength can also look like softness. That it’s okay to cry, apologise, ask for help, take risks, speak up or change your mind.

And despite all the conversation around what boys or girls “need” from their dads, the fundamentals are far more similar than different.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads and father figures showing their kids that being strong can also mean being kind, open, respectful and fully yourself. ❤️

So much of what dads do every day probably doesn’t feel like a big deal at the time but it often becomes the stuff kids remember most.

Playing on the floor, encouraging them have a go before jumping in, reading the same book again, saying sorry, talking things through and just being there for all the ordinary moments.

These are the things help kids feel safe, capable, understood and loved. 🫶🏼

The reality is, sometimes we can get annoyed at the piles of pillows or the revving up before bedtime when they were already calm.. so this is just a little note for the dads / stepdads / grandads or father-figures who continue to show up in the ways that matter.

And to our very own Chief Kiindred Dad? Thank you for all that you do. 🙏🏼
