Local representatives, community groups, DFV relief and advocacy organisations, high school students, local police area command, and the wider community arrived today at the PCYC Hornsby Ku-ring-gai to say 'NO' to domestic and family violence.

The annual "Walk the Talk" initiative is held every year during the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

A house fire has destroyed home in Thornleigh.
The residents were not in the home at the time, neighbours alerted authorities of the fire. Unfortunately the family's pets, a dog and cat, were trapped in the fire.
The fire disrupted peak hour traffic on Sefton Road.
Police and Fire attended the property. Adamson Avenue reopened at 10:30 AM.
The Post is aware that authorities are still on site investigating the cause of the fire.

+++ Media Statement From Hornsby Shire Council - 13 November 2025
At 9:00 AM this morning Hornsby Shire Council released a media statement advising that Mr Steven Head had made the decision yo step down for personal reasons.
The mayor is quoted in the media statement as saying "Steven Head has been a dedicated and thoughtful leader, helping to strengthen Hornsby Shire’s reputation for sound financial management and delivering projects that have enriched our community. We are grateful for his service and wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his journey."

Council has appointed Glen Magus, Director of Corporate Support, as Acting General Manager. The Post understands this appointment will run until November 2026.

The Post understands that all councillors have been extremely frustrated and concerned with the lack of transparency surrounding the sudden departure of Mr Steven Head.

The Post understands the mayor had called a meeting of liberals at his Galston property in recent days.
