Aged Care Industry Visa Process
Employers can sponsor overseas aged care workers in the following key direct care occupations:
Nursing Support Worker (ANZSCO 423312)
Personal Care Assistant (ANZSCO 423313)
Aged or Disabled Carer (ANZSCO 423111)
STEPS
1. Aged care provider (Employer) first establishes an MoU with the relevant industry union.
2. Once the MoU is established, the employer will submit a labour agreement request via ImmiAccount.
3. After approval of the labour agreement, the sponsor can nominate an application under the SID 482 visa, or the 186 visa, both under the labour agreement stream
KEY POINTS
# Either a Cert III or higher qualification, or 12 months of experience (full-time or part-time equivalent)
# Post-qualification work experience not required.
# If an offshore qualification, then a skill assessment is required. Not required for an Australian qualification.
# 2-year pathway to PR through 186 visa
# English language concessions for workers with relevant community language skills.
# Annual salary of at least AUD 51,222
# Applicants under the 186 visa must have 2 years of work experience in Australia, working for the same or any other provider while holding any visa subclass.
