For pipe organ by Michael Hannan

The Song of Rolling Hills for organ has an undulating melody inspired by the terrains of the Downs in South-East England, hence the title. The work references Delius' titles such as 'The Song of Summer', and indeed the harmonic treatment, based on triads with sevenths and other added notes, has a Delian quality. Its four-part notation reveals an engagement with the textural principles of JS Bach’s chorale harmonisations.

For solo piano. Level of difficulty Early Grade 4 by Amanda Handel

This piece is essentially blues – yet being twisted around here and there, it takes on a different shape. The music has all the characteristic chromatic 'blue' notes and harmonic extensions to make it very clearly bluesy in nature, and with the tonal centre on G, the chord progressions to C and D, keep it firmly grounded on the primary chords.

This postlude is a joyful and rhythmically-vibrant reimagining of the well-loved hymn tune Lobe den Herren. The traditional tune is usually set in triple time, with unusual phrase lengths and accents. This postlude explores these rhythmical ideas further through the quadruple time signature, allowing for syncopation and cross-accents that bring new energy to the familiar melody.
