The secrets to getting the perfect hair shots..

📌 SAVE these for later or share with your hair bestie

1. Natural indirect light will always give you the best lighting for your hair photos and videos. Usually, this is in the salon doorway or by the salon's front windows. Make sure the light is coming from behind you when you are shooting your model/clients, and be aware that your body isn't creating shadows or blocking it when you are taking photos. Go outside if you need to, but make sure the sun is not shining directly on the hair.

2. If your model or client is confident enough, get a front-facing photo of them, rather than the back of their head. This is much more engaging on social media and will help your content 'stop the scroll'.

3. Position your camera lower than the model's face and shoot upwards towards them. This makes the hair take the focus and look nice and full.

BONUS TIP: Get your model to hold their hand in their hair, or stare straight at the camera for extra scroll-stopping photos!
