With the HIKMICRO Alpex 4K LRF going on I had a scope to throw on the .22 and sight it in. I do love my little Savage Arms and it was shooting like a dream once sighted in properly. Watch out bunnies!

I’m constantly saying it, all populations need to be managed. We should be able to hunt native animals not just ferals. By all means have a tag system or number to do so to keep populations at a healthy and viable number. What do you think?

Farmers are calling for a cull of kangaroos, which they say are being forced onto farmland by drought and dry conditions and consuming what little feed and water they have.

Some great advice coming from Paul as always!

September Spike
Having kept written records of my observations over many years, I have consistently noted that September seems to be a month that deer become much more visible other than during the rut.

The main factor in this season of extra feeding activity is that many hinds are preparing to give birth and stags are about to regrow antlers, therefore this spike of activity in September is about bulking up on feed before leaner times.

The dry weather which often occurs during this period also means that feed and water in the higher elevations is gone, which draws hinds and especially stags down onto the flats. Keeping track of these spikes and troughs in your deer calendar will help improve your hunting skills.

🦌 Three deer in under a minute. That’s right — in this episode we share the story of an unbelievable hunt where three clean shots provided plenty of quality meat in less than sixty seconds.

🏹 We also talk about chasing goats with the bow, stalking pigs on foot, and spending time glassing huge numbers of deer in some of the most breathtaking country you’ll ever see.

🌲 On top of that, there are important updates for hunters with the new rules for booking NSW state forests. If you’re planning a trip, you’ll want to know exactly how these changes affect you.

🔭 And of course, gear talk — we put the Zerotech glass to the test in fading light, and it didn’t disappoint.
