"The Black Fox"...
Very special guitar for a very special musician!
Based on the classic Tele thinline, the F-hole has been modified to match the Fox theme, and the Black Fox was engraved on the rear access cavity cover.
The artwork was made by an amazing artist and my dear friend from US Natalya Semple Krichever
The back of the headstock has a small roo mother of pearl inlay, to show the origin of this beautiful instrument!
Chrome hardware looking great on this black stained curly mango top, which I have decided to not ruin with a control plate... instead, the access to electronics is from the back of the body, and the cover is held on magnets to avoid screws.
Handwound vintage humbucker pickups from Martin A Smith, also made here in Australia - suersilent when not played, but pack a hell of a punch, and the black wattle combined with mango produces beautiful low and mids, while having clear highs too, as well as nice and long sustain.
All the woods for this guitar body were sourced from my good friend and an absolute wood master Hamish Mitchell at Oculus Guitars Australia !
