MSNBC has rebranded to MS NOW ( ms.now ) and uses the YOAST SEO Plugin!!
Not only is this a website that has 300,000+ pages (each of those 332 sitemaps has 992 pages in them) using WordPress but I think that more importantly they are using the Yoast SEO plugin which is another example of the credibility I think it has for doing SEO meta data reliably.

There are lots of other alternatives but I see them have issues so often I ONLY recommend 1 and its the YOAST SEO Plugin.
And yes Yoast SEO plugin has had a few glitches too but no where near as many.

I really think that SEO metadata, schema etc are more important than ever in the AI and Search race.
YOAST SEO plugin has the biggest team, talks with Google's team weekly as part of the WordPress 5 for the future initiative.

Because to explain something really well, in terms normal humans can understand, you need to know it inside out.
