It’s insane that we are over 8 months into 2024 and there are people that STILL think making an income online is a scam

There are legit 9-10 year olds making millions on YouTube playing with toys

There are teens making millions on TikTok

There are 20 year olds making millions on Instagram

There are 50+ year olds making millions on Facebook

IT IS NOT A SCAM

The real scam is never being able to out earn your boss

The real scam is having to ask for a pay rise

The real scam is getting to the end of your life and realising you haven’t run after what you want and the what if’s that run through your head

The real scam is not living the life you want but rather listening to other’s opinions and letting that dictate your life

This morning at drop off I saw two high school kids (a young girl and her boyfriend)

They had stopped across the road from school and they caught my eye

Something was up

The young boys shoulders were hunched over and the young girl was comforting him

I couldn’t help but watch

He was upset about something and she was just being there for him cuddling and kissing his head while he let the emotions out before entering the school grounds

It was actually refreshing to see a young boy let his emotions out (but not behind closed doors) and know he was safe and being held

It’s nice to see old generational patterns being shattered and making room for more emotionally regulated boys and men ✌️

No negative comments
I’m not a trained psychologist
I’m just a mum navigating the world and watching a learning always and sharing what I see

For the last 4 weeks I have been on a food journey let’s call it.

I had made up this false belief even before I started that I wouldn’t be able to do it …I wouldn’t be able to cut back on carbs (let’s say 4 slices of toast sometimes in a sitting), chocolate, lollies, chips, cakes … and here is my favourite excuse of them all … my kids 😂

So Monday 14 July I just started. I’d changed up the way I ate.

I am counting calories but not in the negative sense or in a depleting my body but rather reducing the amount actual bad food I eat and filling it more with protein and the good stuff.

I am taking myself on a health and self care journey and one thing I am realising is we don’t need to eat as much as we have been led to believe.

In fact giving our bodies a break from being on and digesting food (intermittent fasting) has such huge health benefits more of us need and should be doing this.

I get we can have a belief that it’s too hard … trust me I know … that was me 4 weeks ago and for the past 10 years in fact it has truly spiked.

So I want to celebrate myself for starting, sticking to it and noticing and feeling the changes.

Loving the new habit I am creating and loving that I CAN DO IT and what I am doing is making a difference because I’m more energetic, my skin is better, I’m loosing some cms around my gut (loosing visceral fat) and getting the pep back in my step.

Here’s my tip - just start!

This week saw an end of an era

I took our double pram to a lovely lady who volunteers her time to The Dandelion Support Network … a charity assisting disadvantaged families with items for their babies and children.

For months it had been sitting in our garage literally collecting dust and I was talking with a beautiful mum who shops at my sisters shop who told me about this charity.

I am so happy the pram will go to a family who truly need it to help them thrive and enjoy the freedom of getting out into the world with little kids.

As women we are expected to raise children like we don’t work and work like we don’t have children … it’s absolutely insane!

I now have a firm belief … that a woman can have a thriving career and be a very present mother.

Your environment and the people you surround yourself with matters.

I won’t let societies small minded beliefs stop me from being a present mum and having a thriving career because I am both and I’m growing more into my new career.

I just want you to know … you can be both.

You do not have to choose.

It’s true what they say

Go and set boundaries

Play the game
Play the song louder in your car … and sing like no one is watching
Play the movie that brings back those childhood memories
Play chess with your kids

We live in a different time now

It’s fast paced

Time waits for no one and time is slowing for no one.

Go on …

Go and do the thing that may change your life and fill your cup so it overflows each and every single day.

We have a sausage dog Zara who we absolutely love and adore.

I love long walks (anywhere including the beac 😂), chocolate in most forms, spicy food, a heavy red wine and exercising (working on that one 🤣).
