Last week MOST presented a masterclass which offered performers the opportunity to work closely with Maestra Helena Dix Soprano FRAM. Eight classical musicians honed their craft in a supportive, high-energy environment with the internationally acclaimed soprano. This unique presentation attracted a large audience and ticket allocations were quickly exhausted.

We’re delighted to share with you baritone Lachlann Lawton’s performance of Gounod’s “Avant de quitter ces lieux” from Faust.

In the 2025 Opera Awards, Lachlann won the Armstrong-Martin Scholarship, presented by The Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust, and the Glyndebourne Festival Prize, presented by Glyndebourne.

We're excited to announce the Ashlyn Tymms has bee named as the Winner of the 2025 Opera Awards!
Ashlyn won the Youth Music Foundation Australia Prize valued at $30,000.
Baritone Lachlann Lawton also received two awards: the $5,000 Armstrong-Martin Scholarship, sponsored by the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust, and the Glyndebourne Festival Prize, offering rehearsal access and audition opportunities at the UK festival.
Congrats to both Ashlyn and Lachlann!

The Opera Awards are open to professional opera singers who have performed at least two principal roles with a recognised opera company since 2023. See if you are eligible to enter to win the $35,000 in prizes, aimed at supporting overseas study and your international career.
