Rhythm & Rest Hello! I am Laura, a woman from the Mid North Coast in Australia. Come and stay for a cuppa with us.

Laura | Rhythm & Rest 🏗️ Visualising urban infrastructure & the stillness of concrete. ☕ Coffee, tea & a nonlinear life (across 4 continents 🌏). 📸 Not "slow living"—just deep observation. 👇 Visual quiet. I curate landscape, coffee and architecture with a focus on both the quiet melodies and the harmonious, depending on the content.

Why Sydney tram hums feel like whole notes?

There is a certain frequency on the commute. 🚃 ✨ Even if the ride itself is tuned out.

It ain’t the staccato rhythm of the tracks; it’s the consistency. The electric sustain. A semibreve that simply glides through the CBD and beyond.

Perhaps 🤔……on another note, the beats are designed that way because:

📍To reduce loud vibrations in residential areas.

We do not all vibe the same way. I need to reflect on this. Who else finds the commute a place to unwind?

How rainy 🌧️ days transform the burbs?

The rain tend to dampen the mood to get out there. But honestly? It cheers up the atmosphere.

Here’s why:

📍Suddenly, the concrete paths glow.

📍 And let’s face it, that textural feel is just calming.

Can comfy fabrics help us find ‘Exploring Happy 😊’?

There is nothing worse than poor quality material hugging you while you are trying to walk to that destination. Instead of focusing on where you are going, you’re focusing on a scratchy a seam or fabric that does not quite fit. Curiosity requires comfort. When we’re comfy, we’re free to find our ‘Exploring Happy’.

Why I fell in love 😍 with Bamboo and Cotton?

📍No more distractions. No itching, no pulling, no ‘wrong’ fit.

📍You’re actually present. You can finally look up at the street signs instead of down at your sleeves.

📍That ‘Cloud 9’ feeling. Because life is too short to explore in clothes that don’t make you feel amazing.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my bamboo outfits but I also realise that it is not everyone’s cup of tea. What material is your ‘Exploring Happy’?

There is a deep satisfaction in this kind of rectilinear precision. On a daily walk, seeing this perfect 90-degree grid cuts through the noise and feels like a total visual cleanse.
