These holidays LEGO social skills groups were all about Minecraft. With the movie out, both groups chose Minecraft Lego sets to build. Learning to build as a team was so fantastic to see. We supported the kids to communicate and ask for help, solve problems and support each other. Kids were supported to say when something wasn’t working for them, compromise and co-operate, as well as speak up when they were not feeling ok.

Our jar contains Kinder Surprise eggs, mini Lindt bunnies and lots of little eggs of different sizes. Yum! How many individual pieces (eggs or bunnies) are there in the jar? The closest guess wins the jar of eggs!

You can enter by completing a guessing slip at reception or by telling us your guess in the comments.

The winner will be announced tomorrow.

You need to be able to collect your prize by coming into our rooms in Hornsby, NSW (we do not post).

LEGO groups started yesterday on such a positive note. The children in the groups worked together to build their sets.

Communicating with each other, helping each other and co-operating to solve problems. Some children were able to tell others they had a problem and ask for help from the group (like, it’s too loud, we are going too fast and I think we made a mistake). Therapists helped by prompting that conversation to help the group solve problems.

Well done LEGO building teams!

These groups provide a supportive environment where kids can learn essential social skills. From listening to others, learning co-operation and practicing empathy, these groups help children build the foundation for successful social interactions, boosting their self-esteem and confidence. These are inclusive and safe groups where differences are encouraged and celebrated and interactions are centred around the fun and creative activities of building LEGO and playing games.

We are excited to Introduce GirlZone! This is an exciting new Social Skills Group for Tween and Teen Girls aged 10 to 14 years in the January holidays.

GirlZone aims to build confidence and empower young girls to:

- Understand their strengths
- Make and develop positive friendships
- Manage anxiety in healthy ways

Our Christmas holiday closure dates.

We were starting to worry about where was. She turned up today! Looks like she is ready for a swim and enjoying the hot weather. I wonder where she has been? Maybe she stopped off at the beach.
