So so so proud of the cast and crew of ‘First Day’ for winning an Emmy!!

Writer and Director Julie Kalceff and Producer Kirsty Stark are a powerhouse of a team; approachable, hardworking, open and inclusive with an incredible vision - I can honestly say I don’t know anyone who deserves this more than them!
Congratulations to you both, and thank you so much for telling a story that strongly depicts real life and for giving a voice to the silent, the world needs more film makers like you
Jo Hunt congratulations lovely, your character had warmth and openness that you portrayed with such love, a wonderful message for all parents out there
Last but definitely not least, Evie - from the moment I met you on set I’ve been in awe of you, your maturity, intelligence, resilience, strength, beauty and grace, I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing Hannah the way you did. Congratulations!
To all the rest of the cast and crew - well done, celebrate, you deserve it!

The one that got away… I had to pull out of this film due to the accident, luckily for me I had an amazing crew already set up to take the helm - and now this fabulous movie will be in cinemas across Australia from October 21st!!

The reality of working in the Film and Television industry, unfortunately I can relate to many of the truths shared here, as can pretty much everyone I’ve ever worked with.
Things won’t change unless we change it! (I mean not me… because I’m no longer able to work… but all of my peers, you have my support!)

‘MURDER IN THE OUTBACK: The Falconio and Lees Mystery’ won an AACTA for Best Documentary - this is basically the equivalent to an English BAFTA!
I was HOD on this show when the accident happened 2 days before the end of filming.
I am incredibly proud to have been a part of this, if you are only as good as your last job then I’m blessed that this was my last job!
It’s rare to work on a show with so much passion and professionalism from all areas of the crew; the producers, researchers, crew and cast worked their butts off for a long, long time to make this happen, working tirelessly and hard, working respectfully, collaborating and listening together and still enjoying every single moment (maybe that last bit was just me!)
Thank for for the memories and the opportunities
