Police have arrested a man after three people were assaulted in Tyers on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a property on Cowies Road following reports two men and a woman had been seriously injured about 12.30pm.

Two men, aged 76 and 47, were airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries where they remain in a critical condition.

A 74-year-old woman was taken to hospital with critical injuries and remains in a stable condition.

Tonight, officers were called to reports of the 48-year-old man suspiciously loitering in the vicinity of Tyers-Walhalla Road just before 9pm.

Over the past three days, police conducted numerous searches for the Tyers man who will now be interviewed in relation to the incident.

The parties are understood to be known to each other.

Police thank the public for their assistance in locating the man.

Why would they need to build a carpark in Morwell…,

🚧 Preparation works are underway for the new Morwell CBD Double-Storey Car Park.

Funded by the Victorian Government and delivered by Latrobe City Council, this project will deliver an attractive and light-filled, double-storey car park at 141 Commercial Road.

The new facility will add more than 120 free public parking spaces, helping to address current parking challenges in the Morwell town centre.

Construction is expected to begin in late October 2026, subject to authority approvals.

The car park is the final Regional Car Parks Fund project, with almost 800 new parking spaces already completed across Morwell, Moe and Traralgon.

Once complete, the new facility will improve access to key destinations including Latrobe Regional Gallery, Morwell Magistrates Court, Morwell Rose Garden, local businesses and the civic precinct.

While construction is underway, temporary parking and traffic management arrangements will be in place, with regular updates provided throughout the project.
