Make this history … saw it today and so true.

I look back and am so grateful that I didn’t have a traditional upbringing … I still played with cap guns, wanted to be Superman and dreamed that I could do anything I wanted to including a seat at the table !

Not every little girl has this … so please don’t let biology stop your daughter dreaming big simply because we don’t want them to fail or be dissapointed … let’s them dream and stare into the sky and touch the stars ✨ if they want to

The Digital Transition

Navigating the Closure of Bankwest Branches

The recent announcement by Bankwest to shut its physical branches, transitioning to a fully digital platform, marks a significant shift in banking practices, leaving customers scrambling to adapt.

This move highlights the increasing trend towards digital banking, with Bankwest also facilitating some customers to transition to Commonwealth bank branches for those preferring in-person services.

Customers are advised to proactively seek information from Bankwest about available services and alternative banking options, including utilising Australia Post for certain transactions. Despite the convenience of digital banking, this transition poses challenges, particularly for those less tech-savvy or in need of personal banking advice.

As the banking sector evolves, customers must adapt, enhancing their digital literacy while advocating for services that meet their diverse needs. This shift is indicative of a broader trend in the banking industry, emphasising cost reduction and digital innovation.

On IWD, don’t forget women over 55
International Women's Day (IWD) highlights the achievements and challenges faced by women.

It can also be a time to spotlight shadows, including that women over 55 are at a higher risk of homelessness in Australia. In many cases, this is linked to low financial literacy; a lack of knowledge about budgeting, saving, and accessing appropriate financial services.

Women over 55 may face challenges such as insufficient retirement savings, limited employment opportunities, divorce and separation, or a lack of affordable housing options.

These factors can contribute to their vulnerability to homelessness. To address this, lets focus on empowering all women with financial literacy skills through targeted education and support programs that provide information on managing finances, accessing affordable housing, and planning for retirement.

Let’s use IWD to create change and implement policies, to promote equal pay and improved employment opportunities for women that are overlooked due to age … don’t let them become invisible casualties of ignorance and discrimination.

I’m kind of feeling like it’s those perpetual days between Christmas and New Year when no one know what day it is. On a more serious note I’m finding I need to plan and really reinforce the good consistent health and strategies not just to keep me on track but to keep me sane.

Last night I sat down and went through last months credit card statement just to get a snapshot of where things are at. I always budget but just like Christmas overeating I can overspend when I’m not paying attention.

Think about a time when you took all 8 steps & went from “I won’t do it” to “Yes, I did it!”

What would your “Yes, I did it” self say to your “I won’t do it” self?

We are facing uncertainty, we are forced in to making changes & so much is out our control right now. Sometimes we don't know where we are at till we are out the other side.

What’s important, is to remember that at the beginning of any journey, change or goal we don’t start on the top step - everything has it’s process.

Each day presents a new set of challenges. No matter if it’s work, family, financial or any other area I need help in - I find breaking down the day into hourly chunks really helps. If you are feeling overwhelmed take a moment then look at 1-3 things or decisions you need to make and just do those. Breaking down the day into the next hour really helps keep us all in the moment. With so much uncertainty in our lives at present, getting back to basics is a way to help with this.
