NEW EPISODE 🎙️

Your hosts Ric Allport and Mackenzie Cross recap the recent Animal Free Science protest which saw 150 advocates gather at Sydney Town Hall.

In talking with passers by, it became apparent that many people believe animal testing has already ended in Australia.

In reality, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, dogs, cats, primates, fish, farmed animals and native animals are subjected to cruel and painful experiments.

We highlight snippets from key speeches at the protest, including Susan Sorenson (on behalf of Emma Hurst MLC), Flavia Coleman, Robyn Kirby (Animal Free Science Advocacy), Dr Kevin Coleman, Doug Leith, Lynda Stoner, and Paula Wallace (Liberty Foundation).

This episode documents the united front against animal testing and experimentation in Australia.

Join us in advocating for these innocent animals hidden away in research facilities, bred for only one purpose, to suffer for so-called science.

After 5 years of investigations for their documentary ‘Kangaroo: A Love-Hate Story’, filmmakers Kate Clere and Mick McIntyre knew they had to do more for kangaroos. 🦘❤️

Concerned by the attitudes that many Australians held about kangaroos, they made it their mission to advocate on behalf of this iconic species.

The pair founded Kangaroos Alive in 2020 and have since worked with first nations leaders in Australia, and advocates around the world, to promote coexistence and appreciation for kangaroos.

🎧Learn more about their visionary work in our latest episode.

It’s hard to believe that whaling was once a huge industry in Australia. 😣

Our latest guests, Mick and Kate from tell us about their involvement in the antiwhaling campaign of the late 1970s, and how they apply those lessons to the current day situation for kangaroos.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway is that positive change for animals is achievable!
Due to the efforts of campaigners, the conservative Australian government of the time called a Royal Commission into whaling. 🐋

The ethics of whaling was pressed upon decision-makers, and as a result, Australia made the historic call to ban whaling and instead lead the way as a whale protection nation.

🎧 Hear more wonderful and inspiring campaign insights in our latest episode.

We chat with Anita Marriott ANITA MARRIOTT 🧠 Vegan Life Coach 💚 Vystopia Coach

Anita’s path led her through some of the darkest corners of activist burnout and Vystopia—the intense existential anguish of living in a non-vegan world.

Recognising a critical lack of professional mental health support for vegans, she decided to become that resource for herself and for others as a qualified, trauma-informed life and mindset coach.

This episode is an essential toolkit for vegans, with practical strategies to move beyond anger and grief, protect your boundaries, and transform your mindset to become an “irresistible invitation” for others to follow.

Running a sanctuary comes with beautiful moments of healing, but it also forces you face-to-face with the heartbreaking realities of animal dumping. 💔

Clint from Lucky Stars Sanctuary Inc shares their recent experience waking up to 19 cats abandoned at the front gates overnight.

While the public often holds the misconception that sanctuaries have infinite space and funding to accommodate every animal, the reality is a fragile balance.

This single incident forced Clint and his team into crisis mode: investing in new infrastructure and thousands in unexpected veterinary bills.

Thanks to their dedication and community support, these beautiful cats have been nursed to health and are officially ready for their forever homes! 😻

You can find them all listed for adoption via Pet Rescue. Head to https://www.petrescue.com.au/groups/12176/Lucky-Stars-Sanctuary

🎧 Hear more about the amazing work at Lucky Stars and their new sanctuary stay experiences in our latest episode.
