Day of Reflection 🕯️🇦🇺
The Federal and NSW Governments have declared today, Sunday 21 December, a Day of Reflection to honour the victims of the horrific terrorist attack at Bondi Beach and to stand in solidarity with the Jewish community.

This Day of Reflection will be observed on the final full day of Chanukah, a time traditionally associated with light, faith and resilience, making the loss felt by the Jewish community even more profound.

Today, flags on Australian and NSW Government buildings will be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect for the lives lost and the grief shared across the country.
All Australians share in this grief.

Aussies across the country will light a candle and observe a minute’s silence at 6:47pm, exactly one week since the attack unfolded, as a quiet act of remembrance with family, friends or loved ones.

Woman arrested following alleged carjacking - St Marys

A woman has been arrested following an alleged carjacking in this morning.

About 10:30am (Saturday 20 December 2025), police were called to the M4 Motorway near Reservoir Road, Blacktown, following reports a woman was seen trying to get out of the passenger’s side of a moving delivery van.

Police attended and officers attached to Blacktown Highway Patrol located the vehicle travelling along the M4 Motorway, Blacktown.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle; however, when it failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated which was terminated due to safety concerns.

A short time later officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command located the passenger of the van – a 30-year-old woman on King Street, Parramatta – she was uninjured.

With assistance of Polair, and the Tactical Operations Group, the vehicle was stopped on James Ruse Drive, Rosehill.

The driver – a 48-year-old woman – was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station where inquiries are continuing.

Initial inquiries revealed the vehicle was stolen from St Marys.
