Today I was visiting friends in beautiful Kiama, and of course it only felt right to drop into the Kiama Leagues Club to see how their recent renovations (completed over the last two years) are shaping up.

I caught up with Catering Manager, Sarah Rebeck, who generously took time out right after a super-busy lunch trade to show me around. Sarah proudly shared not only what’s been achieved so far but also gave a sneak peek into even more exciting plans still to come.

The real showpiece right now is the stunning Cedar Cutter Sports Bar, designed by Carley Austin, whose creative vision has already been recognised with a national design award in Melbourne. The look and feel of this space is absolutely world-class, and it’s clear that this theme will be carried through into Stage 2 of renovations, which will transform the upstairs area.

Sadly, I missed CEO Jesse O’Brien ACCM this time, but since Kiama Leagues remains one of my favourite venues to visit, I’ll be sure to pop back again soon.

Today was the perfect day to be in Cronulla. Although I was there under sad circumstances, attending a funeral, I was grateful to steal a short moment with CMAA member and CEO of Cronulla RSL Club, Nathan Whiteside.

The club’s stunning renovations, completed around 12 months ago, are simply next level—thoughtful design, beautiful finishes, and an outlook that truly feels world-class. It’s the kind of place where you could easily mistake yourself for being on holiday.

Nathan shared how, from the moment the sun rises in the Shire, the crowds roll in, making this one of the area’s most popular destinations. With some exciting plans now in the works (still under wraps while they navigate approvals), there’s plenty for the local community to look forward to in the not-too-distant future.

If you haven’t visited the club recently, it’s well worth the trip—it really does feel like a resort escape right in the heart of Cronulla.
