It’s that phone call you never, ever want to recieve. The immediate disbelief, the numbness, then the sadness. A couple of days ago we got told of the passing of our dear friend and guitarist for THE BLURTERS. LACHIE BLURTER. Lachie either loved you or he hated you. He loved his friends with the fiercest loyalty or he despised you with the utmost hate. There was only black and white with “YOUNG LACH” as Con and I used to call him. Over the years he became a close confident and friend to both myself and Con. He looked up to us and once thanked us for letting him join THE BLURTERS, he called both Con and I his big brothers but the actual crux of the matter was that Lachie was the glue of the band, he motivated us old fu***rs and injected some much needed, youthful rage back into our world. What he didn’t know was that the pleasure was all ours and we were indebted and honoured to have him in the band and call him a brother.Lachie was an old head born in the wrong generation. He had old school manners, old school charm, and was an all round stand up old school gentlemen. He protected his mates, was always there to back you up and never backed down when it came to running the ball up. He was tough as nails but had the kindest and warmest heart. In a world full of fake f***s they don’t make em as real as he was! Words can’t describe the hurt and sadness everyone is going through right now. We hope everyone is holding strong and thinking of the good times. Condolences to all family and friends, Until we meet again brother. Touch the sky RIPOSA IN PACE
