Sydney Reflect News – 31st August

Sydney’s CBD is bracing for a tense Sunday. Three major protests are planned—an anti-immigration rally at Belmore Park, a pro-Palestine gathering at Hyde Park, and a refugee action event at Prince Alfred Park.
Adding to the chaos, the Sydney Marathon will bring over 40,000 runners through the city. Police say more than 800 officers will be deployed to manage both the marathon and demonstrations.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid the CBD, especially Belmore Park, Hyde Park, and Prince Alfred Park between 12 PM and 3 PM to steer clear of traffic delays, crowding, and possible unrest.

Mental health isn’t something to hide, it’s something to hold with care. 💚 Let’s be the reason someone feels heard, valued, and understood. Because sometimes, listening is healing.Mauri-E

Sydney Reflect was at Mind Matters – Cinema for Change, an event using cinema to open up conversations about mental health.

We asked guests, actors, and audience members to share their thoughts on what mental health means to them, how they take care of it, and their message to anyone struggling.

‘’No matter what’s going on life, the best thing we can do is to enjoy the life of being as an international students.’’

There was the time when our one and only motive was to come here in Australia as an international student and chase our dream. Though Getting Visa was one of the best and exciting moment, but it didn’t last for long because honestly , once we land on this beautiful Sydney, we have to face the reality.

I am sure so many of you who are in Sydney and who had a lots of expectation before coming here, once you started experiencing the reality, that definitely hurt you so much. But also, if you are someone who quickly accepted the reality and started working hard towards your dream, then I believe this is the best thing you have done here and you should congratulate yourself for that.

If you are an international student in Sydney, No matter what’s going on your life, how hard is it or how beautiful it is, the best thing we can do is to accept it and enjoy the moment because it is the once in a life experience. This moment doesn’t come in our life back again. Just take it as a learning phase of your life.

What I have found is that most of the international students believe that this phase of their life as an entire of their life. But I want you to be absolutely clear about it that this is not life, this is just a phase of your life where your are creating a path, finding the passion, discovering your purpose and more importantly experimenting your life.
