Pancho, who is a rescue dog, has been hailed as a hero after he jumped into action to protect his family during a terrifying armed home invasion.⁠
⁠
Pancho's humans, who reside in Rio Arriba County in New Mexico, had their house broken into by a knife-wielding intruder.⁠
⁠
But incredibly, Pancho was on hand to defend his family and managed to successfully contain the intruder - with help from some neighbours - before authorities arrived on the scene.⁠
⁠
In the process, Pancho was sadly stabbed in the neck, narrowly missing his oesophagus and trachea.⁠
⁠
He also suffered a slipped disc in his back as a result of multiple kicks during the wrestle.⁠
⁠
Thankfully, Pancho's family rushed him to Española Humane - the very rescue pound from which he was adopted - where he was given medical treatment.⁠

Back in 2023, father of three Leon Deane was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.⁠

The 50-year-old was given an estimated lifespan of several months., telling Today: “They told me in the beginning that it would probably claim my life.”⁠
⁠
His son⁠ Ewan, who was a junior at Jellico High School, was due to graduate in two years – meaning his father wouldn't get to witness it. 😢⁠
⁠
But incredibly, ⁠Jellico High School allowed Leon to graduate 2 years early, holding a special ceremony so that his dad could see him graduate in the flesh.⁠

An emotional yet memorable day for the family. 🥺❤️⁠
