Water levels will continue to be monitored during the day so please look out for further updates.

Thursday: The Cedar Party Bridge bypass is currently closed. The bypass will remain closed overnight. Further updates will be provided tomorrow morning.

🟠 The Cedar Party Bridge bypass will be closed at 4:30 PM today.

👉 With further rain forecast overnight, the bypass will be closed to ensure the safety of motorists.

‼️Location Update‼️

Due to very persistent rain, Taree Local AECG Combined Schools NAIDOC committee have decided to move this years Combined Schools NAIDOC event to Chatham High School.

The Taree Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group invites students, families, schools, and community members to attend the 2025 Combined Schools NAIDOC Celebration.

This year’s theme, "The Next Generation – Strength, Vision, Legacy," celebrates the cultural strength of young Aboriginal people and the knowledge passed down through Elders and Country.

The day will feature:
• Cultural workshops
• Live performances
• Student competitions and prizes – including the chance to win a signed NSW Blues jersey, a signed South Sydney Rabbitohs hat.
• Community and service provider stalls

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate our talented student artists – Jannali Simms, Tarin Lester, Kiarrah Holland, and Meisha Ralph – whose artworks were selected as winners of the 2025 Taree Local AECG Combined Schools NAIDOC Art Competition. Their pieces reflect the importance of learning from Elders and the deep connection we all share with Country.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Latrell Mitchell for organising our major prizes, and to Khai Gahan for supporting with transport of the merchandise. Marrungbu to our event committee for coming together to oganise this special event. Thank you to Chatham High School for allowing us to utilise your space.

UPDATE 9:30 AM TUESDAY: The Cedar Party Bridge bypass remains open.

PREVIOUS UPDATES:

🟢 UPDATE 2:30PM: The Cedar Party Bridge bypass will reopen to traffic from 3 PM.
The bus companies have been informed of the reopening.

With further rain forecast for later this week, there is the possibility that the bypass may be closed again in the future. Please prepare for further travel disruption.
Remember to take extra care and drive to the conditions.

🔴 UPDATE 9AM MONDAY: The Cedar Party Bridge bypass remains closed, with water levels slowly receding. Once conditions allow, a structural inspection will be carried out before we can safely reopen the road.

We're continuing to closely monitor the bypass and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. In the meantime, please remember the closure barriers are in place to keep everyone safe, do not attempt to move or bypass them.

🔴 UPDATE 9:00AM: The Cedar Party Bridge bypass is still currently closed. While water levels continue to fall, a structural inspection needs to be conducted prior to reopening once water levels allow. A further update will be provided once the inspection is completed.
