Ok people…
You may have heard us making a little noise about getting more people out to Local Live Music on a regular basis.
Well, the brains trust pictured here have been talking it over for a fair while and we’ve come up with something…
Here’s what we want to do.
We want to get at least 100 people to make a decision to invite one person to a show (or two this week).
Preferably, we can get more but if we get 100 it’ll be enough to see if it makes an impact.
Whether you know the band or don’t know the band.
It doesn’t matter if it’s free or costs $10.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a Thursday, a Friday or a Saturday afternoon or whatever.
Go to a gig (or two) and have a good time.
Eat, drink, don’t eat, don’t drink.
It’s up to you.
Just go to the gig.
It doesn’t matter which venue it is.
Just go.
The only rules is that it has to be a local band playing original music.
The next week you and the person that you went to the gig with are going to invite one person each so there’s now four of you.
Same thing as above.
The next week the four of you are going to invite 4 more people.
Then the 8 of you are going to invite another 8 people.
Then the 16 of you are going to invite another 16 people.
That’s 32 people at a show.
Multiply that by however many people decide to get in on this and there should be a positive impact for bands, venues and you.
It’s a six week experiment.
It doesn’t matter where you’re at or what gig or if you know any of the people.
It doesn’t matter how you work it out do it via Facebook, Instagram or carrier pigeon.
Just do it.
Make that extra effort.
Ideally, we’d want you to be asking people who may not go out to gigs that often.
But there’s the challenge.
Have at it people.
If you want to shoot the idea down then move on and be miserable on another corner of the internet.
Look up a Gig Guide now and Drag Ya Mates Along…
