🚨 FORD BRONCO IS OFFICIALLY COMING TO AUSTRALIA! 🇦🇺

But… this probably isn’t the Bronco you were expecting. 👀

Ford has officially confirmed the new Bronco Basecamp for Australia, arriving in 2027 and instead of a traditional petrol 4WD, it uses a pretty interesting range-extender EV setup.

⚡ 49kWh usable battery
⛽ 1.5L turbo-petrol range extender
⚙️ Dual electric motors + AWD
🔋 Petrol engine generates electricity rather than directly driving the wheels
🛣️ 800-900km estimated combined range
🔌 6.6kW Pro Power Onboard for running camping gear
🏕️ Seats fold flat for an available full-length mattress
☕ Enough onboard power for kettles, induction cooktops, coffee machines and more
🧊 7.5L heated/cooled console on Outer Banks
⛺ Pop-up roof available on the Outer Banks
🍳 Fold-out utility table built into the rear door

Ford is calling the powertrain a “Super Hybrid”, but technically it’s an EREV, Extended-Range Electric Vehicle. The wheels are electrically driven, while the petrol engine can generate electricity to keep you moving when the battery gets low.

And yes, this is NOT the body-on-frame American Bronco many Aussies have been asking Ford for. The Basecamp is a different, unibody vehicle developed with Ford’s Chinese joint venture partner JMC.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet, with Ford saying variants, detailed specifications and pricing will be revealed closer to launch.

🔥 BYD SHARK 6 vs GWM TANK 300 - TUG OF WAR! 🦈🆚🪖

This one was interesting!

Neither vehicle really goes anywhere, BUT look at the difference in how they react.

The Tank 300’s traditional 4x4 system starts spinning the tyres and digging itself into the ground

Meanwhile, the BYD Shark 6 barely spins a wheel and just sits there holding its ground.

Two completely different 4WD systems. Two completely different approaches.

So what do you reckon, is the Shark’s electronics controlling things perfectly, or would you rather the more traditional 4x4 setup in the Tank? 👇

GWM is getting VERY serious about the Australian ute market.

The new GWM Cannon Alpha 3.0L turbo-diesel is about to hit Australia, and on paper, the numbers are pretty wild.

🔥 3.0L turbo-diesel 4-cylinder
💪 170kW / 620Nm

And here's the number that's going to get people talking...

The Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 diesel produces 600Nm.

The new GWM? 620Nm.

The Ranger still has the power advantage at 184kW versus the GWM's 170kW, but getting 620Nm from a four-cylinder diesel is seriously impressive.

GWM hasn't just dropped a bigger engine into it either. The company says the new powertrain has undergone more than six months of Australian engineering and validation, including testing through the Flinders Ranges, Victorian High Country and Big Desert.

🦈 YOU DON’T SEE A BYD SHARK DOING THIS EVERY DAY…

This line was all about wheel placement.

The driver had to keep the Shark’s wheel up on the wall of the rut and hold the line, drop down into it at the wrong moment and there was a very real chance of panel damage. 😬

Even more impressive, this was Lukes first time tackling something this technical off-road!

The BYD Shark might not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when you think of technical 4WD tracks, but he absolutely sent it. 👏
