This set menu could win you a free trip to Spain! 🇪🇸

Every Sunday until 4 October, CANESS is serving a special Picoteo Sundays menu as part of Eat Spain, Drink Spain 2026.

Picoteo is all about grazing on small bites, unwinding around the table and making a social ritual out of eating - so basically, the kind of Sunday lunch I can get behind.

The $60pp menu includes a Sangria plus 7 dishes all with a spanish tapas influence.

While you’re there, pick up an Eat Spain, Drink Spain passport and collect a stamp with every qualifying transaction.

Once you’ve collected 4 stamps, scan the QR code to enter the draw for a return flight to Spain.

Sydney is definitely not short on Italian deli sandwiches right now, but these are genuinely some of my favourites I’ve tried lately.

The Reuben was the unexpected winner for me, but if you’re after something a little fresher for spring, go the Bellini with pear + honey or the Figaro with fresh fig.

They’ve also just launched a dessert sandwich with your choice of Kinder Bueno, Biscoff or Nutella, plus gelato. Yummy, but definitely a little sweet for my liking and borderline way too big.

Sydney Marathon week is officially here 🏃‍♀️

And whether you’re running the 42km or very happily watching from the sidelines, this pop-up has plenty going on to get you race day ready.

There’s free shoe customisation, Hyperion test runs, race day essentials, sign making and a prize wheel where you can even score a spot aboard the Hyperion Houseboat 👀

Brooks Running AU & NZ are also throwing some other pretty fun events happening throughout the week, including harbour cruises, Pilates and carb load lunches.

Ditch the sad desk lunch baby because National Panini day is bringing the goods!

On August 11, you can snag a full-size Panini from mrpaninosydney for the grand total of zero dollars, just make sure you’re one of the first 100 people in line from 11:30am.

Honestly, the odds seem pretty well stacked in your favour, 100 freebies feels like a lot.

As always, make sure to follow What's On | Your Guide to Sydney so that you don’t miss out on any future freebies happening in Sydney.

If you end up here, promise me you’ll order the burger.

It’s hard to explain, but it tasted like the version you imagine when you’re craving a really good cheeseburger… not the version you usually end up with.

Dare I say Crabby Patty secret formula vibes..

I know “hidden gem” gets thrown around a lot these days… but this one genuinely deserves it.

Hidden underneath Bondi Junction, The Hideaway is bringing a little slice of New York to Sydney with live jazz, ice-cold martinis, tableside steak tartare and a seriously fun dining experience.

The Hide Away Burger completely stole the show. It’s hard to explain, but you know when you’re craving a really good cheeseburger and you’ve already built it up in your head? It tasted like the version you imagine, not the version you usually end up with.

The only dish I’d probably skip next time was the lobster pasta. The bisque was just a little too bitter for my taste, so I’d be ordering one of the steaks instead.

If you’re looking for a date night spot or somewhere a little different for dinner in Sydney, I’d definitely add this one to the list.
