Wundenberg's Recording Studios Wundenberg's is a small recording studio located on West Thebarton Road. The studio combines vintage analog gear with digital recording equipment.

Wundenberg's is located in the basement of the West Thebarton Incinerator. The building was designed by famous architect Walter Burley Griffin, known most notably for designing the city of Canberra. The studio uses a vintage 12 channel Neve V Series sidecar for it's beautiful harmonic characteristics, combined with a Pro Tools HD system for added flexibility. The studio has a collection of outboar

These little jigs make soldering cables easy as they hold connectors steady (acts as a third hand) whilst showing the pinouts so you don’t forget where to solder. There’s even a reminder for the outer jacket that is so easy to forget.

Our new and improved Studio 2 is now open.

The room features a brand new vocal booth, Universal Audio Apollo interface, Apple Silicon Mac running Logic + Pro Tools plus stacks of plug-ins. You can also bring your own rig and patch straight into our system and be up and running within minutes. We are offering very affordable rates for this space.

With a Juno-106, DX7, and other synths on hand, it’s a creative space made for pre-production, songwriting, recording or a neutral spot for musicians to collaborate without distractions.

Studio 2 can be hired as a self-operated space, or with one of our engineers if you’d like extra support.

You will start to notice in the next few weeks some changes we are rolling out, as we’re officially separating our rehearsal rooms from Wundenberg’s Recording Studios and launching Adelaide Rehearsal Rooms.

We will still own and operate the rehearsal spaces, this change is simply to make things clearer and more convenient for everyone. All current bookings will be honoured and things will continue like normal.

Along with the new name, we’ll be rolling out a new booking system and website which will offer:
• 24/7 access to our rooms
• Off-peak and on-peak pricing to help save you money
• Flexible 4-hour sessions - start whenever you want - no more set booking periods. You will also be able to add extra time easily to bookings if needed.

The Angels in at Wundenbergs! Hearing stories from John Brewster about the band/ early AC/DC/ Bon Scott/ Alberts etc has made my year. Thanks to everyone who used the studio in 2024, it has been such a great year working on so many fun projects with lots of incredibly talented artists. I’ve been credited on so many projects this year that my misspelled name on credits is even ranking on .ai 😂 😂 😂. I probably should have picked something easier to spell for a business name.. 😂

This year we’ve been able to really improved the studio. We managed to dramatically improve the studio noise floor by rewiring everything (it was already pretty good but dropped by about 13dB), which was a really hard but rewarding job. We also installed new air-conditioning throughout the entire building, new audio converters (they sound so good) and now we are running a HDX system for very very very low tracking latency. We also built a new isolation booth with windows into the control room and live room. It also allows for easy load ins from the alleyway, which has made the studio so much better. It’s made live tracking so much more fun also.

I’ve also really got into electronics this year and making things. I built some 1176’s, made a point to point LA2A with vintage bits (sounds like magic), a plate reverb for the studio, converted the attic into an echo chamber and got massively into 3D printing (checkout the 3D printed sub kick mic enclosure).

Thanks again to everyone who keeps coming back, it’s crazy to think that this is the 8th year we’ve been open. Thanks to .jasmine for killing it and being such a great assistant engineer! January is booked out, Feb is filling up quick, so get into contact soon if you want do something in the New Year. Have a good and safe Christmas/ New Year and hopefully see you soon!
