A lot of the stereograms we sell from the the 1950’s and ‘60’s have valve amplifiers but we also get standalone valve amps coming through the shop on occasion.

From 1958 is a Leak “Stereo 20” power amplifier and its matching “Point One Stereo” pre-amp - both extensively restored and looking and sounding magnificent.

Also from 1958 is a Mullard “Stereo 44”. Originally available as a kit it has a special look with the it’s gold faceplate and red chicken head k***s and we are loving the sound of it paired with a pair of Acoustiflex 17 speakers from the 1960’s.

The last in this selection is an early “60’s Japanese valve unit - a Star SA-30. Also highlighted with gold it looks and sounds rather special.

Golden looks and golden sounds from these rare tube amplifiers. Drop by for a look and a listen.
