Here you can find the latest from our selection of restored vintage hi-fi including stereograms, radiograms, portable record players and component hi-fi like turntables, amplifiers, speakers and reel-to-reel tape recorders. We also repair vintage hi-fi so if you inherited or found a beautiful stereogram but it isn't working as well as it could, get in touch. We can also provide spare parts including new style, cartridges, belts etc.

We’re always excited when we get a big Japanese Qudraphonic system in to the shop.

This handsome beast is a Pioneer FD-3 from 1975. It includes a centre cabinet which houses a fully automatic two speed turntable and a four channel amplifier which decodes all quadraphonic formats - CD-4, SQ, discrete and of course standard stereo. All four speakers are present - two large front speakers and the smaller rear speakers which were meant for the back of the room.

It is in great condition and has had a thorough service so is ready to rock. Auxiliary lead provided and sold with warranty $1650 Now SOLD

If you’re looking for a smaller piece this Aristone should fit the bill.

Its oiled teak cabinet houses a four speed automatic stacking turntable, a solid state amplifier/AM radio and a pair of stereo speakers. We have fitted an auxiliary input for your phone or streaming unit.

The cabinet is in lovely condition and the turntable and amplifier have been serviced by us. Sold with warranty. $750

A lot of cool new things in the shop this week but these take the cake.

The iconic Bose 901-II Direct/Reflecting speakers on their original tulip stands.

This unique design was controversial when released but has come to represent the height of ‘70’s style.

This pair is in great condition with newly powdered coated original tulip stands, new speaker fabric and a thorough overhaul and testing. Included is the original 901 Active Equalizer which is essential to use with these to achieve their famous sound.

Renown for their expansive sound and stunning looks they are now available and sold with warranty $1500

Looking ready to walk out the door on its own with those lovely long legs this is an early 1960s Precedent “Stereophonic”.

Popular for being more compact than many stereograms, these models save space with a fold-away turntable neatly hidden when not in us

The gloss maple cabinet houses a four-speed fully automatic stacking turntable, a valve amplifier with AM radio, and a pair of built-in stereo speakers. We’ve also added a discreet auxiliary input for your phone or other devices (lead included).

Today we have an HMV “Lyric” which is the less common larger version of the “Caprice” that we presented and sold last week.

The “Lyric’s” larger cabinet houses the same valve amplifer/AM radio and four speed fully automatic stacking turntable but allows for bigger speakers and consequently a deeper, fuller sound.

The chestnut coloured cabinet includes a small cupboard across the base and is in very nice condition.

Amplifier rebuilt, turntable serviced and new stylus fitted by us we have also added an auxiliary input for your phone or streaming unit.

Sold with warranty this early 1960’s piece is $950

This stunning looking stereogram is a Thorn “Majorca” following a trend in the 1960’s for Australian manufacturers to name their record players after exotic holiday destinations.

The oiled teak cabinet houses a solid-state amplifer/AM radio, a four speed fully automatic stacking turntable and stereo speakers. We also provide a lead for the Tape socket so you can plug in your phone or streaming unit.

Here’s a fun one. A tiny Aristone tabletop that can even hang on the wall.

From around 1960 this unit has a stereo valve amplifer and a three speed manual turntable housed in a drop down panel that folds away when not in use.

It has been fully serviced, amplifer rebuilt and a new old stock cartridge fitted that flips over so you have a needle suitable for 78rpm records on the other side.

Unusual and cute as can be. $350

One of the most popular stereograms built and sold in Australia was the HMV “Caprice”.

A smaller unit with a distinct style and classic sound it was available from the late 1950’s to the mid 1960’s.

This one is in a Chestnut cabinet which houses a stereo valve amplifier/AM radio, a four speed fully automatic stacking turntable and stereo speakers. We have also retro fitted an auxiliary input (lead supplied).

Here’s a perfect complete system for someone who wants that classic early 1970’s look and sound.

This is a Pioneer “Prelude 500’ system that has just come out of the “good room” where it sat since purchased in 1973.

It consists of a Pioneer SPL-100 turntable, a Pioneer SA-500A amplifier and a pair of Pioneer SCS-11 speakers. We’ve also included a bonus pair of Pioneer SE-205 headphones.

Looked after well by its original owners we have serviced and tested it and now present it for another family to enjoy.

Peek-A-Boo! Avery cute Sanyo tabletop from the mid 1960’s.

The valve amplifer/radio and drop down four speed turntable hide behind the speakers which act as doors when not in use.

Made for a Japanese apartment where space was a premium but quality sound was also important.
