The Herald ran a choccie comp in the September edition. The challenge was to find the number of song related headlines in the edition - with the prize being a sugar hit of Cadbury favourites.

Turns out Brian is pretty good with song titles - and loves his chocolate. He correctly identified 18 out of 19 song titles (even adding in the singer). The 19th tune was 'Team Spirit' by Ed Sheeran. NB: Brian if you read this post please drop by the Herald office to collect the choccies (we did look at them today with grumbly tummies - but held fast).

The September OCM took place this evening. The questions asked by the Herald are below. Link to the recording in the first comment. Best to watch the video to hear the answers to the questions. However, in brief: Qn1 - Shire President provided a statement that included acknowledging the incident, stressing the obligations that dog owners have ie fencing, keep them under control etc; Qn2 - Difficult/time consuming for the shire to provide the 3 sets of numbers (dog attacks for the yrs in question) - need to submit a Freedom of Information request to the shire for consideration (for a fee); Qn3 - best to watch the video; Qn4: Shire got a $2.2M grant for the project and the development costs are estimated (ie forecast) at $2.2M...moving on. Shire President unable to advise the expected revenue forecast...; Qn5 - best to watch the video.

Someone may have confused wisteria with listeria? Certainly the former which was probably about to flower has had the pruning equivalent of a triple-dose of antibiotics (a common treatment for the latter).

Quick pic of the two Darren's at last nights show at The Chieftain Music Club, Toodyay. That's Darren Gillis on stage and his reflection in the mirror as he entertained the crowd with his unique blend of original and classic covers (think Johnny Cash and more...) - a blend mingled with personal stories as the singer-songwriter-country copper shared his journey with the appreciative audience. More in the October edition of the Herald. Darren Gillis
