Brisbane Movie Makers Together, we share our movies and learn from and with each other. BMM has a long history. BMM offers the best of all worlds. Full information is on our website.

BMM is a networking club for movie makers of all skill levels who want to make movies, improve their skills, try out their equipment and create productions in a friendly atmosphere. Beginning in 1937, it has existed and operated with several name-changes ever since. Today, many early members are still active while some are gradually being replaced by newer, younger and more tech savvy men and wome

n. In earlier days, it was a club in the manner of the times, but now it is tending to become also a resource. The last decade has seen a tremendous upheaval in movie-making activity and technology which has left some, both independent and professional, struggling to keep up. As a "club", we offer a friendly, supportive atmosphere where, no matter what skill level, self-produced movies can be shown and evaluated, up-to-date instruction and information is presented regularly and members' questions and problems considered across the whole range of movie production and editing. Where assistance is needed in your production, there is always someone to help. As a resource, we offer essential insurance against third-party claims and crew injuries, as well as a growing selection of equipment for video and audio capture and, especially, for those often expensive items that are needed now-and-then. Not to mention a good selection of hard-to-find licensed music. If you, of whatever skill level, are seriously interested in the wonderful activity of producing quality movies, you deserve to pay us a visit. Email us first or just turn up. You will find us casual, friendly and approachable.

We are looking for movie makers who would love to create a short film about a 'Quiet Achiever of Brisbane'. Films need to be 5 to 10 minutes and focus on telling the story of an outstanding individual or organisation that is doing amazing things, but the general public would be unaware of. Style should be in the format of the subject telling their own story (as opposed to a traditional interview. Movie makers should include footage and a soundtrack that makes their film highly interesting and engaging. Films that are accepted will be added to a cinema length film and screened at a Brisbane cinema during December 2025. This is a collaboration with BMM and not a paid initiative. It will give you a chance to highlight an outstanding individual or organisation, whilst honing your movie making creativity and skills.

We were asked by Virgina Gray to participate in a shoot of her short story 'The Checks in the Mail'. I went along to do sound. Great crew, fun day despite wet weather. We managed to find a brief window in the rain for a couple of outdoor shots. Most was indoors. We intend to be a team for the 48 hour film comp.
