It’s taken a couple days of sanding to take 18, 140mm wide staves, from an octadecagon to something closer to round. It’s not perfect but it’s pretty close. This will be a dining table base for a client, expecting delivery next week

These raintree bedside tables are from a tree cut down in Bluewater in 2023. The timber works great in this application; it’s light and got heaps of character.

Last month I delivered these 2 vanities. I’ve built vanities before but this was my first time doing it for a client since going full time as a furniture maker. I’m excited to see them go, and can’t wait to see what they look like installed.

This was a challenge I set myself, to make a simple but elegant piece that I could put together quick. It’s also something I can make out of offcuts so cross fingers people like the design. This was the prototype, now I’ll make one a bit more polished and quicker, and see if I can sell it locally. I’ve also got an idea for sending it interstate but that’ll have to wait for now.

The final piece (for now) in the acoustic journey of this office. This is a 90mm deep panel of foam and earthwool, made to catch all those mid frequencies that the lighter panels in the wall bounce back. I might still do some bass traps under the desk but for now the office is ready to record VO
