A great initiative from Fuel For Schools Ltd 👏

Great to have more schools coming on board to collect students used footy boots for our Fuel for Feet Program

Fuel for Feet is a really simple idea with a pretty powerful outcome. We collect good-quality footy boots that are no longer being used and get them into the hands of kids in remote and regional communities who may not otherwise have access to them.

These two have been long‑time supporters of our organisation, and we couldn’t think of a better duo to guide us through one of the most special evenings in our history. Together, we’ll be looking back on 50 years of 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 and looking forward to the next 50.

TGFC SEPTEMBER MONTHLY MEETING – THIS THURSDAY! 🎣

We’ve got plenty to catch up on at this month’s meeting, so come down to the Townsville Yacht Club this Thursday from 7pm for a drink, dinner and all things TGFC!

🎣 Wrap-up of the 2026 TGFC Billfish Challenge, proudly supported by Lexus of Townsville.

🏆 A special presentation following the Queensland Game Fishing Association AGM, recognising some of our amazing TGFC junior anglers!

🔥 NQ Billfish Shootout Update – Round 2 kicks off this weekend with the Innisfail Game Fishing Club Billfish Competition. Good luck to all the teams heading north!

🌊 Australian Marine Parks Review – we’ll have a chat about what’s being proposed, what it could mean for recreational fishing and how members can have their say.

🥩 And of course, our Meat Tray Raffle, thanks to the legends at Sunvale Meats!

Was so excited to hear about Pizza Pasta Bar opening today in City Lane Townsville Dining Precinct I had to try it. I LOVE Italian food.

My meal was DELICIOUS, and I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu 🫶🏼

What an achievement 👏

20,000 hours ticked over this morning on a flight captured for the family album. Congratulations to Dick Arnold. Your dedication and passion to the aviation industry has inspired so many. Some words from Dick “20,000 hours – it has been a humbling experience. I thank God for not taking me too early and giving me the courage to believe in myself…above all on this earth, I thank my wife, Michelle and children, Sam and Georgie for loving me and staying by my side.
I feel very privileged.

There is a place in the world for all good people. There are people that will want to bring you down and criticise you but at the end of the day all you can do is do your best and as long as you do the best you can , than that is all that matters. One thing I am proud of, is that I’ve worked hard and tried my best. Sometimes I did not succeed but I didn’t stop trying to be better for the people that matter to me”
