Author Graeme Lunn speaking to a packed room at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Nowra, yesterday for the launch of his biography of Admiral VAT Smith. We were privileged to hear from a star-studded line up of speakers including former Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, and former Chief of the Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin. A wonderful function honouring an extraordinary man!

Christmas Eve 1974 saw Cyclone Tracy smash the city of Darwin. All three defence force services were affected, and all three then participated in the largest ever ADF peacetime operation to clean up and rebuild the city. Cyclone Warriors by Dr Tom Lewis tells this remarkable Australian story, with a foreword by Sir Peter Cosgrove who was a young army lieutenant in Darwin in early 1975.
