Chapter 13: Unlearning the Old
Rules

Writing Your Own Narrative
You were not born with the rules.
They were handed to you.
One by one.
Spoken softly or screamed loudly. but always with the same message:
"This is who you must be to be loved.
Be nice.
Be quiet.
Be good.
Be less.

And for too long, you believed them.
The Rules Were Never Yours
The rules were passed down.
systems.
from tired mothers, fearful teachers, broken
They were not truth.
They were trauma in disguise.
Rules that taught you to shrink.
To over-apologize.
To put everyone else's comfort before your own truth.
But rules made in fear do not create freedom.
And you were not made to be a prisoner in your own life.
Let the Old Rules Burn

Let go of:
• The rule that says you are selfish for choosing yourself.
• The rule that says your worth comes from how needed you are.
• The rule that says speaking your mind makes
you difficult.
None of these rules serve the woman you are becoming.
They were designed to keep you quiet, not empowered.
Drafting a New Story
You are not here to live by someone else's script.
Tear the pages.
Grab the pen.

Draft a story where your voice is loud, your needs are valid, and your life is yours.
Your new rules can look like this:
• I do not explain my boundaries.
• I do not shrink to fit in.
• I do not perform for love.
• I choose myself, daily.

Becoming Your Own Author
Rewriting your narrative is not always neat.
There will be grief.
There will be guilt.
But there will also be freedom.
The woman who emerges.
is not the one who followed all the rules. she is the one who dared to break them.

Power Practice: Rewrite Your Rulebook
• List three "good girl" rules you were taught.
• For each, write a bold new truth to replace it.
• Say one of them aloud, like a vow.
Journal Prompts:
• What rule did you live by that caused you the most pain?
• What belief are you ready to release?
• If no one expected anything of you, who would you become?
Affirmation:
"I am no longer who they told me to be.
I am the author of my life.
My truth, my voice, my story, all mine."

Chapter 12: The New Definition of a Good Woman

Wholeness Over Perfection
They told you being a "good woman" meant being quiet, polite, pleasing.
Always nurturing. Never needy.
Always giving. Rarely receiving.
Always holding it together even when you are falling apart inside.

But you are not here to play a part in someone else's performance.
The Old Definition Was a Lie
"Good" used to mean small.
Obedient.
Predictable.
Sacrificing your needs to meet someone else's expectations.
But that's not goodness.

that is erasure.
You do not owe the world your silence to be
worthy.
You do not have to break yourself to be loved
Redefining Goodness
An incredibly good woman is a whole woman.
A woman who knows her truth and lives it.
Who chooses honesty over pretending.

Alignment over approval.
Boundaries over burnout.
She is not always polite.
But she is always real.
She may not always be easy to digest. but she is true to herself.
Being Good Is Being Free
You can be soft and still say no.

You can be kind and still walk away.
You can be loving and still choose yourself
first.
Being a "good woman" does not mean being liked by everyone.
It means liking yourself enough to stop betraying who you are.

The Woman You Are Becoming
She is bold.
She is raw.
She is awake.
She no longer lives by rules written by others.
She writes her own code. with grace, grit, and fire.
And in case you forgot:
You get to be the author of your own life now.

Power Practice: Rewrite "Good"
• Write down what being a "good woman" used
to mean to you.
• Now write a new definition one that feels true.
• Speak one truth aloud today that you used to
hide.
Journal Prompts:
• Who taught you what it meant to be a "good woman"?
• What beliefs about goodness are you ready to let go of?
• What does a whole, honest version of you look and feel like?
Affirmation:
"I release the old rules.
I am a good woman because I am whole, not perfect.
I live by my truth, not their expectations."

Chapter 11: Redefining Strength

Sotness, Power, and Unapologetic Truth toa
Strength is not what we were told it was.
It is not about shouting the loudest.
Not about toughness or invulnerability.
Not about carrying every burden silently.
Strength is softer.

Deeper.

More courageous.
Strength Is Choosing Yourself, Again and Again

It is showing up when it is easier to give up It is speaking your truth when silence feels safer.
Its vulnerability wrapped in courage.
Strength is the quiet power. of a heart that refuses to harden.
Softness Is Not Weakness
Softness is the willingness to feel.
To be tender with your pain, to extend compassion to your wounds.
Softness is the place from which true power
flows
because it is honest, real, and unguarded.
Unapologetic Truth.

Strength is telling your story. without editing for acceptance.
Without shrinking your truth to fit in.
It is standing in your light. and refusing to dim for anyone.

Your Journey to Strength
You are not broken.
You are awakening.

You are remembering the fierce grace that lives inside you.
The strength you seek. is already within you. waiting to be reclaimed.
Power Prectice: Embrace Your Soft Strength

Write down three ways you show strength through softness.
• Share a vulnerable truth with someone you trust.
• Notice when you hold back your truth and gently ask why.
Journal Prompt:
• How do you define strength?
• Where can you soften into your power?
• What does unapologetic truth feel like for you?

Affirmation:
"I am strong in my softness.
My truth is powerful.
I stand boldly, unapologetically myself."
