The Red Line (www.theredlinepodcast.com) is a geopolitical think tank that produces The Red Line Podcast, a deep dive geopolitics show focusing on one key issue shaping the news. Topics range from the Private Military Companies, to the Ethiopian Civil War, to the Future of Cyber Warfare and the show is currently one of the most-streamed political programs in the field with 500,000 streams per month. In addition to the show, the organisation also runs events and publishes written analyses on a broad range of international security topics, as well as conducting research and analysis consulting for a number of international partners.
โ
The programs current producer is starting a senior position inside the federal government and unfortunately has to depart the position as a requirement of the new job, so we are currently looking for an enthusiastic geopolitically aware individual to take over his position. Depending on the right applicant the role can either be one by one individual or can be split amongst two new team members.
โ
The combined role would have the following responsibilities.
โ
- Managing and coordinating the showโs staff.
- Helping to decide on topics and episodes.
- Editing written articles produced by the writers.
- Sitting in closed-door briefings from Government / Think Tank partners.
- Helping create research packets.
- Helping produces episode summaries and curate website content.
- Possibly representing the program on Live panels.
You will be joining a team of 10+ volunteer staff from around the world, and will have access to high-level experts, secure briefs, and guests including ambassadors and journalists.
โ
โWe are looking for someone who has good familiarity with geopolitics, works well with people, and has excellent communication skills. A relevant qualification is a bonus, but demonstrated practical experience and enthusiasm for the position is the most important factor.
Working times in these positions are very flexible; our global team means that operating from any time zone is workable, so long as you have some regularly available time each week we will be more than happy to work around it. The role would be a commitment of around 4 - 8 hours a week, but this can also be spread out across multiple days.
โTo apply, please email [email protected] with the subject "The Red Line Producer Application", along with your resume and a 200-300 word introduction and expression of interest in the body of the email and I will be organising interviews within the next fortnight or so.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this opportunity, and hopefully we can bring you onto the showโs team during our biggest ever period of exponential growth as part of a fun, dynamic and driven team of geopolitics nerds.
I look forward to reading your application.
Michael.
