If you ever wanted to know what a Scotsman looks like ...(sort of) if he has been out in the Pilbara sun wearing sunglasses.. I give you my avian equivalent.

It is fair to say .. i don't, nor i think its equally as fair to add that i never have possessed the abilty to hang onto a piece of wire and look this cool.

But to readdress the imbalance i dont think this little fella , can make a cheesy omlette with bacon , onions and capsicum early on a Sunday morning ..

I digress.. i seem to have turned it into a competition ..

I shall leave you with the image .. and the prompt to periodically remove sunglasses just to balance out the face ..

Many years ago …

I walked by this place … often poppping in for a coldie on the way home from work .. Each time I visit I … pop in .. and today was no exception .
I have to add as I drove through the city to drop off my hire car I was getting stressed . Lots of t***s .. hand gestures , flashing of lights and of course pedestrians. As I waited outside after the key drop .. letting my heart settle .. and if I’m honest complain internally about the traffic .. hook turns .. etc etc

A visually impaired guy walks out the apartment where I was uber waiting … he was smiling and waving his sight seeing stick to guide him on his way .
I watched as he meandered hi way into the city ..

I then realised I had no right complaining internally for navigating AI assisted in an AC electric car ever again ..

The uber guy rocks up and I tell him of my realization .. he adds .. “ I pick that guy up , always smiling and polite “ … “ I have every reason to be grateful “

I agreed and with that .. we parted ways .

I’ve been a little quiet .. I say quiet ..

Well I mean on here lately, but definitely not behind the camera.

I was down in Onslow recently working with my other hat on Flying Fox Media Creation— covering the MACK10K fishing competition for .

I thought I’d share the finished video here. It was a cracking weekend to capture: All my favourite things .. boats, fishing, plenty of action and a great community atmosphere.

Well look what the cat dragged in ...

Yes i do look as if a cat dragged me in .. bit battered and bruised .. i say battered and bruised .. more of a tanned and hurty knee ..

I digress..

Well as you can probably guess , i have been so busy .. so busy in fact i havent a minute to myself... which is good right.

Next week is no different but ill be in WA and there is a chance ill be in the scrub so stay tuned .. Better pack a lunch just in case.

Tonights little offering was whats happening in the Pilbara right now ... These little guys were reaching for the stars in a little termite city and i thought thats so Pilbara..

This was a little trip out this morning .. i shall explain later ...

Well what a foot tapping Friday i had.. early morning coffee.. sat on the beach and contemplated todays activities.
Headed off and edited 2 videos for clients .. Little photo shoots directly after and getting ready for the annual FeNaClNG Festival here in Karratha.. (little 2 day festival celebrating all things Pilbara)

I had a lovely message sent to me .. it was a link to a short video ..which.. made me smile and it was a real beautiful thing ..... I digress

Then as i drove along the highway, a song i hadn't heard for a long time burst through and into my energy field.
My foot and voice instantaneously started tapping and singing .. I don't know why .. but before i knew it i was in mid song .. in the moment ..Oblivious to anyone or anything.. Luckily for me i had arrived at a set of lights.

The feeling "life was good" I smiled at the angry ute driver as he overtook me, as he tried to death stare me into moving from the fast lane...

Before i knew it i was home and still singing ..

So before i ask you to listen to this song .. I do apologise as you may find yourself singing it too ..

So what have you got for us Markie ? Why this pic after such a long winded digression of a tale ..?

Well it may be a bit of a stretch .. but bear with me ..
This is a pic of an old cart .. A very old cart .. Which brought a well known pioneering family to the Pilbara via Exmouth ... back in the day .... and it is till in use .. But the thing that i am connecting this with my yarn is the two bolts .. The two bolts holding the metal bracing on . One old and one new.

You see that little message / video and that song that dropped into my world are like that new bolt . They are simply a positive addition to something that just goes about its business .. and helps it do its thing ..

So my little homework for you this weekend is to do the same .. Send someone a message .. a short video message or even better read something . The choice is yours .. Be a new shiny bolt :)

Its a Friday night and i have just touched down... The last few weeks have been a blur ..Quite literally, filming here there and everywhere .. In choppers ... on ships .. In ships ... In old historic towns.. back in Perth .. 3 times in the one week .. Quite crazy.

But here i sit weary and typing my excuse as to why i have been MIA.. not even a note from my parents .. (remember that post )..
But im here and what have you been up to?

Feel free to scribble in the comments as i do enjoy a read .. And talking of comments .. i do apologise for not replying back .. I had every intention to reply and my credit history says im good for that .. But time slipped away and my eyes closed..

That sounded like a note in my biography ...
Or a eulogy .. or an excuse to the police officer as to why i was speeding and ended up upside down inside a burger van..

I digress..

Anyhoo.. i hope you are still there and all is well in your world ..

I only brought this small offering to the table tonight ..
This little view is my gateway to Millstream .. I often stopped here and watched the storm roll in , or usually roll away ...
It brings a layer of peace and serenity when i visit or look at it ..

DIARY SUNDAY :

Well airline cuisine has taken a dip .. by dip I mean limbo dancer kinda dip
On a domestic flight the other day i reminisced about all the flights this Scottish body had been on over the years..

As I sat in my seat at the back of the plane a whisker from the jet engine . I watched the dot of my cabin crew slowly come into focus . After multiple refills of brekkie rolls and coffee to their cart she arrived at my little set up ..
The last room at the inn .. and to be fair I did have the 3 seats to myself only to be shared by the rig workers as they waited in line for the toilet and had to sway into my little enclave.
She smiled and offered me a little box .. her face looked concerned..
I gave her a concerned look back … “just try it “ she mouthed ..
I reached out and took it ..
I’ve never taken anything from a fire before ..

I digress…..

Anyhoo I opened my little box .. “BREKKIE” written on it .. the heat escaping reminded me of a war film years ago when a tank was hit with a missile .. the mu*****ns inside exploded causing. Flames to shoot out every opening all the hatches and even the large gun .
I thought it best to leave it for a while … it wasn’t enough .
As I bit into this little nuclear powerhouse it became apparent that its “warm up “ station had been set to white hot .

The little bun the lava like scrambled egg and melted cheese housed was the same texture as a newly worn RM Williams boot . And as my lower jaw tried to saw left to right in an undercut fashion my tongue made the error of trying to taste what was in its world .

Like dipping your foot into a too hot bath .. the pain is instant but this was different . As my mouth played Jenga with a piece of the BREKKIE Roll trying to find a position that taste buds , nerves weren’t being cortorised .

I did nibble through the overcooked delight and even my cabin crew lady gave me a surprised look as she picked up the empty box …
So what’s the moral of your story Markie ?
No moral .. just a nod to the cabin crew who did try to warn me ..

Got to go … here comes my melted chocolate for landing 😂

I headed to Coles the other day .. For those of you outside of Australia .. Its a large Supermarket with some of the best places to park your car and get a trolley tattoo along the side ..

I digress..

Well i picked up my cooked chook and a trlley tattoo and headed home after i parachuted through the sunroof to get into the car ..

Then i hooked up the boat and went for a "drive" .. found a better parking spot and not a trolley in sight..
After eating some of my cooked chook and playing loud chill out music ... i drifted back to Dampier ..

If only all parking bays were this relaxing ..
