ALBUM REVIEW: Gavin Strickmann welcomes Swedish AORists Roulette - SWE back to active duty...

After opening up with three polite exercises in solid - some might say stolid - AOR, Sweden's Roulette finally hit paydirt for the first time on new album Go! with track four, the muscular Strangers. After that they maintain a high cruising speed, in the process unfurling some of the classiest melod...

FEATURE: "It's hard to fully encapsulate the legacy this giant of 'our kind of music' leaves behind..." Vale, Ozzy Osbourne

The world of heavy metal has lost its most iconic figure. John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne, the seemingly indomitable front man of Black Sabbath and a trailblazing solo artist, passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 76. With a career spanning over five decades, Ozzy’s influence on music, cult...

ALBUM REVIEW: Chris Arrowsmith puts himself in the firing line of the new Panzerchrist album...

Panzerchrist have been tearing up the Danish extreme metal scene since the nineties, and with Maleficium Part 2, they’ve delivered a second instalment of their ambitious double-album concept that’s as savage as a Viking raid and as cinematic as a descent into Dante’s inferno. Following hot on ...

Sentinel Daily - Metal for Grown-ups...

“Basically, I was tired of writing about bands I had nothing in common with, and whose music I was growing to despise”.

So says Sentinel Daily editor Scott Adams of the end of his relationship with his former web-based metal magazine, Metal as F**k. He continues: “I wanted to write about bands I was genuinely enthused about, bands that generally seemed to have been around in metal’s glory days in the eighties. That’s where the idea of ‘metal for grown-ups’ came from. People my age, in the mid forties to mid fifties age bracket, didn’t really have a web-based magazine aimed at them apart from the big corporate titles that seem happy to cover the same mega bands all the time. At Sentinel Daily we’ll cover those bands of course, but there’s a whole new generation of bands playing classic metal that we want to shine the spotlight on as well. Bands that we love that we think other people of our vintage will too”.

That idea came in late 2015 and now, nearly one million visitors later, Sentinel Daily is staying true to that original ideal. Come along with us for the ride!
