Yesterday’s Perth Rally for Palestine - which saw many thousands protest - started at Forrest Chase in the CBD and finished at Hyde Park Vincent, close to Mollys Irish Pub where many from the March went for a drink, food and a chat about everything. The very strong Irish contingent was something to be proud of! Well done to the organisers and speakers including from Perth Doctors for Gaza. Report and many more pix in September edition of Irish Scene magazine, which will also feature an interview with Dr Mo, who met with President Michael D Higgins and others in Ireland in his campaign to build a children’s hospital in Gaza!

After arriving in Western Australia only earlier this week Irish athlete Karen Weekes set off today on her latest endurance adventure – to cycle solo from Perth to Sydney. In 2022 the Galway woman became the first Irish woman to row across the Atlantic Ocean, taking 80 days and nine hours to achieve the feat. Irish Scene spoke with Karen on the eve of her Australian expedition and we will publish that interview in the upcoming July/August edition.
