🏆 2025 STAWELL GIFT CHAMPION: JOHN EVANS 🏁

We caught up with this year’s Stawell Gift winner John Evans, and what a story he had to tell!
Johnny took out his first-ever Stawell Gift title, following in the footsteps of his coach Paul Young, who famously claimed the crown 40 years ago. Talk about full circle!

From the grit and grind of pre-season training, to the intense build-up in the days before the race, John shared what went into preparing for the biggest weekend on the sprinting calendar — and what it felt like to cross that finish line first, arms raised, crowd roaring. Pure elation.

He also let us in on his go-to post-race takeaway meal (spoiler: it's definitely not on the nutritionist-approved list!) and took us back to where it all began — the early days of his running journey and the moment he realised this was more than just a hobby.

Diary of a crazy bloke with photos included.

Saturday 5am alarm goes off and leave Morphettville at 530am and arrive at Murray Bridge at 630am.

7am to 9am host the Saturday Sports Show and then Buy Swap and Sell on

Drive from Murray Bridge to Alberton for post match presentation duties for the SANFL side.

530pm drive from Alberton to Mt Barker to MC for the

10pm drive home and finally hit the hay around 11pm.

Sunday morning some much needed time with my little buddy Evie and then Sunday arvo it’s spent writing match reports for the SA Country Champs!

Fair to say I think I’ll sleep well tonight!

After surviving a serious car accident, made a decision that would change her life — and now, she’s on a mission to change others’.

She’s currently running around the entire country, chasing the world record for the fastest female to run around Australia, all in support of mental health and raising funds for her favourite charity Blue Tree Project

Every day on the road comes with its highs and lows. There have been injuries, tough weather, mental walls, and moments of doubt — but also pure elation, sunrises over the outback, and the unwavering support of everyday Aussies. It's the people in the community, cheering her on from remote towns and highway stops, who are keeping her legs moving and her heart full. ❤️

Brooke stays focused by reminding herself why she’s doing this — not just to break records, but to raise awareness and funding for mental health support. When the body aches, she leans on rehabilitation routines, breathwork, stretching, and mindset training to keep going.

Another big few days as the host of a very special MND fundraiser event on Saturday night at Part Time Lover where we raised an unbelievable $28000 which will be used to purchase two ventilator machines for the Flinders Medical Centre.

Yesterday I made my debut on the mic as court announcer for the Eastern Mavericks which was so much fun!
