Garden Divine
This sweet sunshine yellow color is what first greets visitors as they pull up to the Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in the Queensland town of Bell. However, it's what exists behind the church that will stay with visitors long after they leave. A meaningful and unique biblical garden planted in honour of the church's centenary in 2012. You will find plants that appear in the Bible including date palms, olive trees, oleanders and grapevines, just to name a few. Why not come and have a wander, all are welcome.

Footloose and Fancy Free
We all know country kids have it good, space to roam, the freedom to do so and all those friendly familiar small town faces to keep an eye on them. Of all the subjects that our feature photographer for Winter 2025, Ange Stirling puts in front of her lens, we think her portraits of kids being kids are some of her best.
To see more of Ange’s work and learn about her story turn to page 20 of our Winter issue.

A little bit of gypsy in their soul
The flowing manes and feathered feet of the Gypsy Cob are what originally caught the eye of Trish Minchin but it's their powerful physique and good natured, intelligent demeanor that led Trish to pursue breeding these magnificent horses.
Originally bred by the travellers of Ireland and Great Britain to pull their caravans, they were imported into Australia in 2003. Trish now breeds and sells them from her Tricolby Cob Stud at her property in Jimbour on Queensland’s Western Downs.

Collected and Perfected
Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Dion Cross is a self professed 'collector of old things'. The older, dustier and more random the better. It’s these pieces of forgotten treasure that Dion pieces together to become impressive works of art, turning Dion into a renowned sculptor.

Hello Cocky
Can you hear this image? We sure can....it’s the beloved cockatoo’s most common call; that distinctive (and loud) screech ending with a slight upward inflection. The more of them there are, the louder the party gets! Just a part of the fabric of our Aussie lives.
