Reading this 1989 Rock article by Greg Pritchard, was like entering an alternate reality but also one that hits home to a reality we could be facing.

It left off with as an incomplete story with a sick feeling in my stomach that anyone who had a connection with Mt Arapiles would undoubtedly feel reading it.

While Greg’s words were penned as dystopian fiction, the unease they stir isn’t imaginary. The closures, restrictions, and cultural shifts we’re seeing now at Mt Arapiles carry echoes of that imagined future. If we value the freedom, community, and wild beauty of the Mount, we can’t afford to dismiss those echoes.
