A new exhibition opened today at Wagga Wagga’s Ambo Gallery, showcasing embroidery panels made by Australian Quakers.

The panels depict the history of Quakers in Australia, showcasing their work in social and community issues.

Also on display at the exhibit at artworks from local Quakers, as well as Riverina Indigenous and emerging artists.

Turns out, there used to be plenty of very active chapters of the Royal Antedeluvian Order of Buffaloes, all around the world, including in Australia.

🔥ROAD CLOSED DUE TO HAYSTACK FIRE 🚒

Old Narrandera road is closed at Gobbagombalin north of Wagga wagga due to a haystack fire on a truck.

A detour is in place for traffic.

Fire crews are working to get the smoldering under control, but houses in the area may be impacted by smoke.

A man has died and two people have been hospitalised after a three-vehicle collision in southern NSW.

Police are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

This Horses' Birthday, we're recognising the important role that the animal has played, and continues to play, in our communities.

On ABC Riverina Breakfast this morning, we heard from Riding for the Disabled branches across the region about the important work it does.

It prompted Bruce at Stanbridge to tell us about one of his horses' work with RDA.

"He was used to assist clients with their confidence and riding. He was much loved and brought a lot of joy to us and many others," he said.

Bruce has 13 horses, and have a combined age of 232-years-old.

"Oldest is 25 and youngest is nine," he said.

Every August 1st is dubbed the Horses' Birthday, partially because of historical record keeping.

Murrumbidgee Irrigation also sent us the below photo of its Main Canal in 1912, and said it shows the "vital role horses played in building the MIA channel system".
