Progress in Healing Through Holistic Approaches:

At Brain Shocks, we are thrilled to share our latest updates as we continue our journey to explore innovative approaches to healing. To date, we have completed 27 in-depth interviews with thought leaders, researchers, and advocates who are making significant contributions to the world of healing. Among our interviewees are prominent figures such as Dr Sue Sisley, Peter Grinspoon, Dr David Meiri, Dr Orit Holtzman, Dr Shiksha Gallow, and Dr Rohan Reddy. Their insights are helping us uncover new ways to address trauma, challenge traditional medical systems, and advocate for holistic healing.

The Voices of Change:

Here’s a closer look at just a few of the incredible individuals we’ve had the privilege to interview:

Dr Sue Sisley
Dr Sue Sisley is a renowned physician and researcher based in the United States. She is best known for her groundbreaking work in medical cannabis research, particularly in studying its effects on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in veterans. Her dedication to exploring alternative treatments for those who have not found relief through conventional medicine has made her a trailblazer in the field. Dr Sisley’s work challenges the influence of big pharma and advocates for patient-centred approaches to care.

Peter Grinspoon
Dr Peter Grinspoon is a primary care physician, cannabis specialist, and author. He is a Harvard-trained doctor who has dedicated much of his career to educating others about the potential benefits of medical cannabis. As a person in recovery himself, Dr Grinspoon brings a unique perspective to the conversation, advocating for a balanced and informed approach to cannabis use in medicine.

Dr David Meiri
Dr David Meiri, based in Israel, is a biochemist and researcher specialising in the therapeutic potential of cannabinoids. His lab is at the forefront of studying how different compounds in cannabis interact with the human body to treat various conditions. Dr Meiri’s work is particularly significant in understanding the science behind cannabis as a treatment option, providing evidence-based insights into its potential.

Dr Orit Holtzman
Dr Orit Holtzman is an integrative medicine practitioner with a focus on holistic approaches to health. She combines her expertise in traditional medicine with alternative therapies to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. Dr Holtzman’s work highlights the importance of addressing the root causes of illness and empowering patients to take an active role in their healing
journeys.

Dr Shiksha Gallow
Dr Shiksha Gallow is a South African physician and advocate for plant-based medicine. Her work focuses on educating patients and healthcare professionals about the benefits of medical cannabis, particularly for managing chronic pain and other debilitating conditions. Dr Gallow is a passionate voice for breaking down stigma and advancing the conversation around alternative treatments.

Dr Rohan Reddy
Dr Rohan Reddy is an Australian medical practitioner with a deep interest in exploring non-traditional approaches to healing. His work often intersects with the mental health space, where he advocates for treatments that go beyond pharmaceuticals to address the underlying causes of trauma and distress.

Shifting the Narrative:

Veterans, First Responders, and Holistic Healing
Our current focus is on interviewing veterans and first responders, individuals who have faced immense trauma in their lives. Many have shared their experiences with conventional medications, detailing not only the side effects but also the systemic challenges they faced within the framework of Western medicine. These conversations are shedding light on the need for a more compassionate and holistic approach to healing.
We are investigating the role of big pharma in shaping the medical landscape, from its influence on treatment protocols to its power in limiting access to alternative therapies. At Brain Shocks, our goal is to question these systems and advocate for a more balanced approach that prioritises patient well-being over profit.

The Road Ahead

As we continue our research and interviews, we remain committed to uncovering stories that inspire change. The voices we’ve captured so far are just the beginning of a larger conversation about how we can redefine healing in the modern world. Stay tuned as we delve deeper into the lives of those who are paving the way for a new era of medicine—one that values the human experience and embraces the potential of holistic care.
It's not too late to be involved as either someone revealing their personal story, or contributing to the production costs to ensure Brain Shocks sees distribution become a reality.

With your help, we can make a difference.

Today we launch the crowdfunding campaign for our new feature length documentary “BRAIN SHOCKS: From Frontline to Freedom”.

Please support this project as it tells the remarkable stories of our veterans and first responders who suffer silently with often invisible conditions that require cutting edge therapies and medicine to keep them alive and well.

There are plenty of ways you can support this cause - donate, share and talk about BRAIN SHOCKS. And there are some great rewards on offer for those who support us on this mission.

Thank you
