There were a number of trees on fire along the Ovens River at College St, Wangaratta this morning.
Firefighters have responded to this fire.
Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
There is no immediate threat to the community.
As a popular walking area, it is advised to avoid the area while firefighters are dealing with the incident.
Police are investigating the cause.
