Who knew a tub of yoghurt could cause this much drama? 🥄
Episode 4 of The Break Room — "Yoplait is French for Thief" — is here, and it's chaos in the best way. A missing tub of low-fat organic fresh fruit yoghurt. One suspicious spoon. And a break room feud that gets very personal

But here's the real story: every frame was crewed by our student filmmakers at Crew School.

Behind every frame of Uncle Lee is a director who knows that the scariest thing in a post-apocalyptic world isn't the infection. It's grief. 🎬

This short film comes from Sabrina Dervis, an award-winning Australian director known for bold storytelling, emotional honesty, and a real commitment to mentoring emerging creatives.

Here's how she describes it:
A man clinging to love after the world has fallen
Survival in a world built on loss
Raw, rural and deeply human

Sabrina uses the Australian landscape as more than a backdrop. Lee's remote property becomes both refuge and prison, the isolation written into every shot.

The result is a film that asks what hope can still look like when almost everything is gone.

Uncle Lee is your first step into In the Wake of the Fall — a grounded, character-driven world set after a devastating infection changed everything.

It follows Lee, a man holding onto routine and survival on a rural property, until danger pushes past his perimeter and forces him to confront the grief and hope he's been carrying.

Here's the part that gets us: this whole world started as a vision from two high school students.

That spark grew into a full production, brought to life by emerging Sunshine Coast filmmakers, with:

Uncle Lee is a raw, emotional short film set in the aftermath of a deadly infection — and it's screening at Pluggas Studio.

Alone on a remote rural property, Lee survives on traps, routine, and hard-earned instinct. But behind his locked doors he's hiding the one thing he can't let go of: his infected wife. As danger closes in, he's forced to face the brutal cost of love, grief, and survival in a world that has already fallen.

This isn't a story about the infected. It's about a man trying to hold onto love after the world has taken almost everything from him.

Directed by award-winning Australian filmmaker Sabrina Dervis, the film uses the harsh beauty of the Australian landscape to turn one man's property into both a refuge and a prison. It asks a quiet, devastating question: what does survival really mean when the people we love are no longer the same?

Check out these behind-the-scenes shots from our recent Crew School workshop! 🎬

We are so proud of our students who jumped right in, rolled up their sleeves, and got a real taste of life on a film set. They weren't just watching—they were running the show!

From camera operators and focus pullers to sound recordists and lighting technicians, our students took on genuine crew roles and learned on professional cinema equipment, guided by industry experts every step of the way. It was amazing to see their confidence and skills grow each week.
